Midnight Sky NOTD

Julep Michelle and Vanessa

After trying out Julep Michelle by itself I decided that this would be the best opportunity to try out Vanessa on top of it. I am quite pleased with the results I hope you will like it as much as I do.

I apologize now for how bad it looks, I forgot to add a top coat and I didn't do a very go job with the cleaning up.

Michelle is a midnight, inky blue crème.

Vanessa is a opalescent glitter in a clear base, it is a great top coat for adding something extra to a color that needs a bit more.

I am partial to Michelle since we share the same name, but I do love that is a great deep blue that works perfectly for me and I can see me using it a lot.

Julep Ivy Swatches

This is quickly becoming another of my favorites and I am sure you will see why in the photos.

Ivy is a dynamic sapphire micro-glitter metallic and I am happy to say the description definitely describes this polish correctly.

I tried for a while to capture the hint of purple that shows up every now and again with this polish and I finally did it. The photos aren't great but it is a good representation of the slight purple hue it has.

I am becoming a fan of Julep's micro-glitter polishes and I hope that they make more soon because they have great dimension and color.

Julep Cindy NOTD

I seem to have been in a little of a blogging slump and so I decided to look at all of my swatch photos and NOTD photos and I finally got them edited and ready to upload. Then I realized that this will take a while because I had another 8 blog posts to write. So this post is just the beginning of my backlog.

Now I give you Cindy from Julep, this is one of my favorite colors and I wore it easily for at least a week before I had to change it up.

Cindy is a wonderful green with gold micro-glitter.

Julep's description of the color as emerald green with gold micro-glitter metallic, I wouldn't say that it emerald green but more of a spring/grassy green.

When I needed to change it up I removed my chipped polish and repainted my nails but this time I added Julep's Matte Top Coat and really loved the way it changed the look.

I think I love this polish even more because the matte top coat gave it gave this polish even a wider range.

This was the first time I used the matte top coat and I was very impressed at how quickly it dried.

Now have I given you enough photos??? If you made it this far in this post have fun with the next 7 because most of the posts are photo heavy.

There were several sets that I wanted but I already owned bits and pieces of the sets so I passed on all but one. The mystery color set was available in the last secret store but I passed since I didn't really want it at the time. This time I decided to pick it up because I didn't know when the next time it would be for sale. The nail polish remover is something I am in love with, I have found that it works wonders compared to my other removers, I do hope that they make a refill bottle soon so I don't need to keep buying the little bottles anymore.

December Birchbox #1

December Birchbox #1

This was one box that I wasn't sure I was going to like but I am happy with the majority of the items.
So what all did I get?

January Julep Maven Box

January Julep Maven 2013

This month’s theme was the Resort Collection, Nudes & Neons. I wasn't thrilled with the selection this month since I already have both nudes and neons in my collection, the one neon color I was missing was orange so I chose the only box (American Beauty) with that option and added on one of the only nude colors that caught my attention.

So what came in this month’s box?

End of The Year Sale Haul
For once I jumped on the chance to order something from Julep besides my monthly box since the sale they were having was great. So check out what I got!

Fortune Cookie Soap Box- Grinch Theme

I hate to say it but I am late reviewing my Grinch Themed Soap Box!!!! So late in fact that when I remembered to buy some full sized products they were almost sold out of all the Grinch themed products. I did manage to find most of the information that I needed for my post so better late than never right?

Ming Blue Sparkle NOTD

Julep Annie and Colbie make up my Ming Blue Sparkle NOTD. I thought that this was going to be a good combo but I don't think that I will be doing this look again in the future.

Just a little tidbit about the name of this NOTD, Ming Blue is the name of a vintage yarn that I am using in a project right now and it is the exact same color as Annie.

Annie is a electric blue topaz crème and Colbie is a Malibu blue glitter.

Enjoy!

Julep New Years Mystery Box

So what all did I get in my New Years Mystery Box?

New Year's Birchbox Haul

I finally got my 9 month anniversary code for my main Birchbox account and I had enough points saved up so I could get some of the pricier items on my wishlist.

First up is the One Love Organics Body Serum in Lavander and Neroli. I got a sample of the Neroli one in my November Birchbox and fell in love with it so I jumped at the chance to order the gift set with both scents.

This is a guilty pleasure item and it is the Chuao Salted Chocolate Crunch chocolate bar. I have never tried these chocolate bars before but I heard amazing things about them so I ended up ordering just one instead of all of them

The biggest makeup purchase to date for me is theBalm's NUDE'tude eyeshadow palette. I have been needing a more neutral palette for a little while now and I am please to report that the colors are amazing. I am also happy to report that the eyeshadows were in one piece and not broken.

I have been on the lookout for this particular cleanser from Philosophy for a while since I really needed a gentle cleanser to use with the last item that I ordered. I also heard amazing things about the Purity cleanser and I couldn't wait to try it out.

Now I saved the best for last, I finally ordered a Clarisonic Mia! This was the one huge purchase I had been saving up for and I am glad I got it just in time for the New Year to begin.
