8.15.13 NOTD

I finally decided with only 3 more yellow based greens to use I needed a break and pulled out my second favorite color, purple.

This look is actually 3 colors Julep's Billie Jean, Bette, and Chelsea.  Bette is on the sheer side so after the first coat I pulled out Billie Jean which is an opaque creme that has great coverage with just one coat.

This look is 1 coat Bette, 1 coat Billie Jean, 1 coat Bette, 1 coat Chelsea, and 1 coat of Freedom.

8.11.13 NOTD

Today's NOTD is Julep's Mackenzie. This month I'm working on wearing every green polish I own so I can decide which ones are my favorite.

8.10.13 NOTD

It has been a very long time since I posted but I am planning on getting back on track soon.

Today I wanted to share my NOTD since I am actively trying to use every polish I own. This look uses 3 coats of Julep Fiona and one coat of Julep Colbie, finished with a coat of Julep's Freedom Polymer Topcoat.

Enjoy!

St. Paddy's Day NOTD

For St. Patrick's Day I painted my nails with Julep Lucky. They released this for March mainly for the holiday.

Lucky is described as a kelly green and gold coin multi-dimensional, full coverage glitter.

I got great coverage with this glitter polish and it looks really great. When I first got the polish I thought it it was basically Julep Cindy with Vivian but after comparing them I realized they are different.

Enjoy!

lila Wolken NOTD

Using Julep's Helen, Charlotte, and Morgan I created a purple gradient inspired by one of my favorite songs that found over here in Germany.

lila Wolken translates as purple Clouds. I love this song and I always play it when I need a pick me up and I wanted to do something that was inspired by the song.

This was a really simple nail to do I just have a huge issue with the clean up but I'll let you judge how well I cleaned it up.

Champagne Lace NOTD

Today's NOTD is Julep Alyson with Julep Vivian on top.

Some of these pictures just don't give this combo justice, Vivian is so delicate looking that it reminds me of lace.

Vivian is described as "Champagne bubbles," a full coverage multi-dimensional gold glitter. I find that Vivian isn't a true gold color but more like "fool's gold" or pyrite. I asked my husband what he thought and he agreed.

I guess the description of champagne bubbles works really well because it does look like gold champagne bubbles floating up my nail.

Enjoy!

Princess NOTD

This NOTD features Julep's Audrey and Yumi. I used Audrey as the base and did a glitter fade with Yumi.

I just wanted to point out the obvious that one of my nails is much, much shorter than the others. For some reason this one likes to break at the worst possible moments, mainly when I am out shopping and I can't fix it in time. But the rest of my nails look so good why did this one nail decided to break?!

Audrey is a soft light pink micro-shimmer, and is great just by itself but I wanted to jazz it up with some glitter.

Yumi has pink, silver and holographic glitter which takes Audrey from subtle girly pink to princess pink.

Enjoy!

Oceanus NOTD

So today I bring you one of my favorite combinations to date, Julep Amy with Julep Portia on top.

Portia adds just enough to the turquoise of Amy to give it a new look.

Portia is a sheer blue glitter top coat with opalescent glitter.

I used only one coat of Portia but that is all that was needed.

Beautiful isn't it?

Enjoy!

Sterling Factures NOTD

I used Dendrie as a base for this NOTD and it is a lovely dove grey color but a bit on the plain side so I jazzed it up with a coat of Glenda on top. I featured Glenda in my last post as well but I really think it is a spectacular color. I am going to keep this post a little short (minus the photos of course) because I have a lot more to write. Enjoy!

Icy Blue NOTD

I came late to the crackle fad but I am in love with the silver crackle Glenda from Julep, it seems like Glenda will be more versatile than say a white crackle.

I found that Glenda goes over Ivy beautifully since both polishes are metallic/shimmer they complement each other well.

I think this combination is going to be perfect for the winter holidays and I can't wait to use it again. What do you think?

Shattered Stars NOTD

Color Club- Diamond Drops, Julep- Jordan, Julep- Patti

So this look came about when I started with Patti and thought it could have more silver so I reached for Jordan. Unhappy with the silver glitter gradient I knew I needed to find a way to save the look so I grabbed the almost forgotten Color Club polish from my stash. I added Diamond Drops on top of the whole look and called it done. It was hard to really like this look at all but I still wanted to share it with everyone. I may try a similar look with a black polish with Jordan or Diamond Drops but not on top of Patti. Enjoy!
